Biography

Andrzej Zieliński was a track sprinter who won a silver medal in the 4x100 relay at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. He was capped 21 times for the Polish national team and was a four-time Polish Champion – 1959 and 1962 100 metres, 1962 200 metres, and the 1964 4x100 relay. Zieliński also helped Poland win a silver medal in the 4x100 at the 1962 European Championships.

Zieliński graduated from the Telecommunications Technical School and represented Gwardia Warszawa. He later was a long-time coach for Gwardia. Zieliński was named an Honored Master of Sports in Poland.

Personal Bests: 100 – 10.2 (1962); 200 – 20.7 (1962).
