Biography

A high jumper, Pam Spencer competed at the 1976 and 1984 Olympics, and also made the US Team in 1980. From Great Falls, Montana, Spencer high jumped and played basketball in high school. She won three national titles, TAC Outdoors in 1981 and 1984, and the TAC Indoors in 1976. Spencer won a silver medal in the high jump at the 1979 Pan-American Games, and also competed at the 1975 Pan-Ams, placing sixth.

In 1981 she set a US record of 6-5½ (1.66) in the high jump. She jumped for Cal State Northridge, Seattle Pacific University, and the Los Angeles Track Club. As Pam Spencer-Marquez, she became a track & field coach and in 2015 was an assistant coach for the USA women’s team at the Pan American Games.

Personal Best: HJ – 6-5½ [1.97] (1981).
