Biography

In May 1973, at the San Jose Invitational, Al Feuerbach broke the shot put world record with a toss of 21.82 (71-7). Feuerbach represented the US at the 1972-76 Olympics, made the 1980 Olympic team, and competed twice at the Pan American Games in the shot put, winning the gold medal in 1971 and finishing fourth in 1979. He was AAU outdoor shot champion in 1973-75 and 1978, and indoor shot champion in 1971, 1975, and 1978.

Personal Bests: SP – 21.82 (71-7) (1973); DT – 54.30 (178-2) (1970).
