Biography

Ron Larrieu was AAU cross-country champion in 1965-66. On the track he placed third in the AAU 10K in 1967 and the AAU 5K in 1965. Larrieu finished third in the 1964 Final Olympic Trial to make the Olympic team. He later became a track coach at Mountain Ridge High School in Glendale, Arizona. Larrieu’s sister was Francie Larrieu, who made five US Olympic teams.

Personal Bests: 1500 – 3:49.2 (1960); Mile – 4:03.6 (1966); 2 miles – 8:32.0 (1967); 5000 – 13:43.0 (1964); 10000 – 28:54.2 (1966).
