Canadian figure skater Louise Bertram formed a strong partnership with Stewart Reburn, with the pair being dubbed as the “Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers of the ice world.” Bertram and Reburn were the first pair to skate to the music, rather than using it as background music. The pair finished second in the Canadian Championships in 1934 before winning the national title the following year. Selected to skate at the 1936 Garmisch-Partenkirchen Olympics, they finished sixth in the mixed pairs competition. Both Bertram and Reburn were inducted into the Skate Canada Hall of Fame in 2015.
