Monika Kaserer

Monika Kaserer was an Austrian all-round alpine skier starting in all alpine events during her career. She participated in the 1972 Sapporo and 1976 Innsbruck Winter Olympics with a sixth place in the 1976 giant slalom as her best Olympic result. She was more successful in World Championships, winning two bronze medals (1974 alpine combination and 1978 slalom).

In 1973, Kaserer won the overall giant slalom world cup. In the general overall world cup, she placed second in both 1973 and 1974. In total, she won 10 FIS Races in different events but mostly in giant slalom. Additionally she added 32 more podiums. Nationally, she gained four titles, two in slalom in 1973 and 1976, and one in giant slalom and the combination, both in 1976.

Kaserer later became a ski instructor and worked with the ski school at Gerlos. She was also employed by WasserWunderWelt (WaterWonderWorld) at Krimml. In 1999 she was awarded the Gold Medal of Merit of the Republic of Austria.
