Biography

Anja Mischke was a West German speed skater participating in the 1988 Calgary Winter Games. She finished 12th over 3,000 and 16th over 1,500 metres. She won several national titles. By profession, she became a policewoman and was briefly married to Uwe Tonat, a four time national champion, competing in all major events except the Olympics. Her sons Paul Tonat and Lukas Mann also became speed skaters, while her father Kurt was a well-known motorboat racer.

Personal Bests: 500 – 42.34 (1988); 1000 – 1:25.71 (1990); 1500 – 2:06.59 (1988); 3000 – 4:24.16 (1988); 5000 – 7:48.65 (1988).
