Biography

Lyubov Mukhachova made her only international tournament appearance at the 1972 Olympics, where she won gold in the relay, was fourth at 10 km and sixth at 5 km. Domestically Mukhachova never won an individual Soviet title, but was a Soviet champion in the relay five times (1970-72, 1975, 1976). Later, Mukhachova worked as a cross-country skiing coach. Since 2003, an annual cross-country skiing tournament in her honor has been held in Boksitogorsk, Leningrad Oblast.
