Biography

Between 1933 to 1942 Piroska Szekrényesy was a figure skater with BKE, competing in pairs along with her brother Attila. Between 1937 and 1943 they won the Hungarian championship six times. Between 1935 and 1939, they were on the Hungarian national team, and at the 1936 Olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, they finished fourth. They also finished fourth three times at the World Championships (1935, 1937, 1939) and won two bronze medals at the European Championships in 1936 and 1937.

After her brother was called up as a soldier in 1943, Piroska stopped skating competitively. Beginning in 1938 she was an official of the Budapest Gas Company.
