Biography

For several years, Børjeson was the leading Norwegian male pair skater. Paired with Ragnhild Andersen he won the national junior title in 1948. Eleven years later, he ended his career by winning his sixth senior title, this time paired with Ingeborg Nilsson. At the 1952 Olympics he skated together with Bjørg Skjælaaen. With Nilsson he was Nordic Champion in 1956, and then placed 15th at the 1958 World Championships. Bjørjeson was a great admirer and friend of Sonja Henie, and worked for several decades at the Henie-Onstad Art Centre in Høvikodden west of Oslo. He was involved in the planning of the celebration of Sonja Henie’s 100th birthday in 2012, but fell ill and died in 2011, aged 80.
