Biography

Ice hockey forward Clifford “Cliff” Crowley was a member of the Winnipeg Hockey Club when they won the Allan Cup, given annually to the Canadian senior men’s amateur ice hockey champions, in 1931. He then joined the team when it represented Canada at the 1932 Winter Olympics, where they won the gold medal. At the tournament, he played in only one game and did not score any goals. He died at the age of only 41 in his native Winnipeg. As a member of the Allan Cup-winning Winnipegs, he was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame in 2004.
