Biography

East German Nordic combined athlete Uwe Dotzauer had his greatest moment at the 1982 Seefeld World Championships, when he won the gold medal with the team and a bronze medal in the individual event. He also competed at the 1980 and 1984 Winter Olympics, placing fifth and seventh, respectively. Dotzauer was briefly married to cross-country skier Marlies Rostock. After his active career he became a Nordic combined coach at Thüringen and with the reunified German national team.
