Pentti Isotalo played ice hockey for Finland at the 1952 Oslo Winter Olympics and the 1951 World Championships. He played his entire career (1942-58) with Ilves Tampere, starting out as a forward but later moving to defense, and helping them win seven Finnish league championships. Isotalo was a teacher by profession but spent most of his life involved in ice hockey. He became a referee and officiated at the 1964 Innsbruck Winter Olympics. Isotalo is a member of the Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame.
