Biography

DeDee Nathan was a heptathlete who competed in that event at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Her greatest win as a heptathlete was the 1999 Hypo-Meeting in Götzis, Austria. She won the 1991 Pan American Games heptathlon and was the 1999 World Indoor Champion in the pentathlon. At the 1995 Pan American Games she won a bronze medal. Nathan competed at the World Championships in the heptathlon in 1993, 1995, 1997, and 2001, finishing seventh in 1997 and 2001.

Nathan attended school at Indiana University. Nathan was world ranked in the top 10 in the heptathlon in 1997-99, with a best rank of #5 in 1999. She had a long career and was ranked in the US top 10 from 1990-2004, 15 consecutive years, with #1 US rankings in 1999-2000 and #2 in 1997, 2001, and 2002.
