Biography

Marianne Groat was a Canadian professional tennis player who competed for her country in the Fed Cup. Groat competed in the singles at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics when tennis was a demonstration sport, losing in the first round to Hong Kong’s Patricia Hy-Boulais. Her best results were reaching the quarter-finals of the 1984 Brasil Open and the first round of Wimbledon in 1985.
