Biography

Nona Garson competed for the USA in show jumping at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. She also won a team bronze medal in jumping at the 1995 Pan American Games. Garson won several Grand Prix titles including the 2000 Grand Prix of Florida, the 1999 Jaguar Gold Coast Grand Prix, and the 1999 Budweiser/AGA Show Jumping Championship. She competed in over 20 Nations Cup competitions in 15 nations.

The horse Garson rode at the Olympics, Rhythmical, had an interesting history as at one time he was traded to a new owner in exchange for a dozen washing machines.

Garson later co-owned and operated The Ridge Farm with George D’Ambrosio. Based in Asbury Park, New Jersey; Tewksbury, New Jersey; and Wellington, Florida, Ridge Farm is a hunter, jumper, and equitation training facility which has trained many horses for international jumping competitions.
