Biography

Jaroslav Lukeš was a Czechoslovak skier and ski jumper who competed at two Winter Olympics either side of World War II. Lukeš competed in the ski jump at the 1936 Garmisch-Partenkirchen Olympics, finishing in 27th place. After the war Lukeš competed in three events at the 1948 St. Moritz Olympics. Lukeš again competed in the ski jump, improving on his placing from the 1936 Games, finishing in 21st place. In the Nordic combined Lukeš finished in 35th place. He also finished in 78th place in the 18 kilometres cross-country.
