Biography

Lester Madden was an American figure skater who competed in both singles and pairs, the latter accompanied by his sister, Grace. Together they won the US pairs championship in 1934, and were second four times, in 1933, 1935, and 1937-38. They also competed at the 1936 World Championships, placing sixth. In singles, Lester Madden was second at the 1930-33 Nationals and third in 1929 and 1935. At the Worlds, he was seventh in 1930 and sixth in 1932. A Boston native who represented the Skating Club of Boston throughout his career, Madden graduated from Harvard in 1933 and earned an MBA from Harvard in 1934.
