Biography

Edmund Czaplicki was the reserve goaltender for the Polish team at the 1928 Olympic Winter Games. He also competed at the 1926 and 1927 European Championships, earned a total of 15 caps, and was a member of the team that won the 1928 World Students’ Championships. With his club, AZS Warszawa, Czaplicki won four Polish Championships from 1927-30. During the summer, he was a successful rower, winning a 1927 Polish Championship, and also represented Poland at the European Championships in rowing. After attending the local gymnasium, he graduated from the School of Pioneer Reserve Officers in Modlin. Czaplicki died in Kharkiv, Ukraine in August 1940 during World War II under unknown circumstances.
