Biography

Reginald MacPherson was a versatile athlete, running at every distance from 100 yards to one mile. A member of the Edinburgh Harriers club, he also ran for the West of Scotland and Leeds AC. MacPherson was selected for four events at the 1906 Intercalated Olympics in Athens, but did not compete in any of them.

MacPherson regularly took part in Scottish and English Championship meetings, but with very little success. It was probably unfortunate for him that the dominant athlete of the day in his distances was fellow Edinburgh Harrier Wyndham Halswelle.
