Biography

German triathlete Stephan Vuckovic surprisingly won the silver medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. In 2007, he won the Florida Ironman and at major events he was on the podium several times, with seconds at the 2005 Ironman Canada and 2009 Ironman Lanzarote; and thirds at the 2007 Ironman Lanzarote and 2010 Ironman Canada. In 1996, he won the German short-course nationals.

Vuckovic was awarded the Silver Bay Leaf, Germany’s highest sports award. In 2008 he became sporting director of the Triathlon Association of Baden-Württemberg. He also managed several triathlon training camps.
