Biography

Kathy “Gubba” Sheehy won a silver medal in water polo at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and won silver at the 1999 Pan American Games.

Sheehy played water polo at San Diego State University. She also played for the New York Athletic Club and the Old Mission Beach Aquatic Club. Sheehy became a coach, working with the US Senior B National team and several local high school teams. In 2022 she was named a volunteer assistant at Arizona State University. Sheehy was inducted into the USA Water Polo Hall of Fame in 2010.
