Canadian-born Rick Nasheim was an ice hockey centre who played at the 1994 Lillehammer and 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics representing Austria. The team was eliminated in the group stage and finally placed 12th and last after losing the match for 11th place to Norway 3-1. Four years later, Austria again placed last and 14th. Nasheim won 66 Austria international caps and scored 48 points (28+20).
Nasheim had a long-playing career with VEU Feldkirch, where he spent 14 seasons and became a five-time Austrian champion (1994-98). Previously he played in Canada with Cowichan Valley Capitals, Kelowna Wings, Regina Pats, and University of Regina. In Austria he briefly played with EHC Klostersee, Wiener (Vienna) EV, and EHC Black Wings Linz. Nasheim later turned to coaching and scouting.
