Biography

West German cross-country skier Dieter Notz finished fourth with the men’s 4x10 km relay at the 1980 Lake Placid Winter Games. Individually, he came in 36th over 15 km, and 22nd both in the 30 km and the 50 km event. In 1978 and 1979, Notz won West German national titles in the 50 km event, and in 1980 he won the 10 km title. He later graduated as a sports teacher and was eventually named Regional Chief Coach in Baden-Württemberg for cross-country skiing.
