Biography

Teppo Numminen began his hockey career in 1985 with Tappara Tampere and played there until 1988. With Tappara Numminen won three Finnish titles in 1986-88. In 1988 Numminen joined the Winnipeg Jets and played there for the next 15 seasons, although the club changed name and location in 1996 and was later known as the Phoenix Coyotes. Numminen then played one season with the Dallas Stars and from 2005 until his retirement in 2009 played with the Buffalo Sabres. Internationally Numminen won silvers at the 1988 and 2006 Winter Olympics and bronze at the 1994 Olympics. He also won silver at the 2004 World Cup and bronzes at the 1987 and 1991 European Championships and 1991 Canada Cup. Numminen also played for the Finnish 1996 and 1997 World Championships teams.
