Biography

Peter Rohwein was a West German ski jumper who competed at the 1984 Sarajevo and the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics. His best result was in 1988 when he finished sixth in the team event. In 1984 he earned his only individual national title on the normal hill.

After his active career Rohwein turned to coaching. From 2000-04 he supervised the German national team in Nordic combined as a jumping coach, leading the team back to the top of the world and celebrating several successes. In October 2004, he became chief national coach of the German ski jumpers but was replaced after the 2008 season, and then coached the German B-team.
