Biography

Wolfgang Scharf competed at the 1984 Sarajevo and the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics as a speed skater in the middle- and long-distances, representing West Germany. In 1982 and 1983 he won West German all-round national titles. Scharf trained as a bank clerk, but later worked as a freelance finance and real estate agent.

Personal Bests: 500 – 39.23 (1984); 1000 – 1:18.4 (1983); 1500 – 1:58.68 (1984); 5000 – 7:09.91 (1983); 10000 – 15:01.60 (1983).
