Biography

Speed skater Jürgen Traub, brother of Günter Traub, competed for the mixed German team at the 1964 Innsbruck Winter Games. Jürgen placed 21st in the 10,000 metres. At the 1968 Grenoble Olympics he finished 22th in the 1,500 m, 20th in the 5,000 m, and 18th in the 10,000 metres, by then representing West Germany. Traub was a roller skater until 1959, as was his brother Günter. After retiring Jürgen took over his parent’s medical store and expanded the business to 12 locations in West Germany.

Personal Bests: 500 – 41.9 (1968); 1000 – 1:25.5 (1968); 1500 – 2:08.4 (1967); 5000 – 7:52.7 (1967); 10000 – 16:00.0 (1968).
