Biography

Jürgen Bohr, a flatwater canoeist, finished ninth and last in the final of the K-4 1,000 at the Montréal Summer Games. Domestically, Bohr won the West German national titles in the K-2 500 (1976 and 1978), K-4 500 (1977-78), K-2 1,000 and K-4 1,000 (1976-78), and K-1 1,000 (1977). He also won 10,000 metres national titles, at K-2 (1976-78 and 1980), and K-4 (1974 and 1979). By profession, Bohr was a trained car mechanic, and then worked with the municipality of his hometown Völklingen, and later with Saarlouis, as the head of the car service station.
