Biography

Skier Roman Wörndle finished fifth in the Alpine combination at the 1936 Garmisch Partenkirchen Winter Olympics. At the 1937 World Championships he won the bronze medal in the slalom and the following year was fifth in the downhill and sixth in the combination. He was killed-in-action during World War II somewhere in Russia at the Eastern front.
