Biography

Michael Künzel was a German sprint speed skater who finished 11th over 500 metres at the 1998 Nagano Olympics. Four years later at Salt Lake City he came 19th over 500 metres and 24th over 1,000 metres. In 1999, he won his only World Cup race (1,000 metres). He won ten German national titles and set 17 national records.

Personal Bests: 500 – 35.30 (2002); 1000 – 1:09.13 (2002); 1500 – 1:55.12 (2001); 5000 – 7:36.62 (1992).
