Biography

Flatwater canoeist Heinz Lucke partnered Hermann Glaser at the 1976 Montréal Summer Games in the Canadian doubles. The pair finished ninth and eighth over 500 and 1,000 metres, respectively. Throughout his active career, Lucke was overshadowed by Ulli Eicke, behind whom he was second at the West German nationals from 1974-80. In 1977 he won his only national title, in the long distance C-1 10,000 metres event.
