The one-third mile event was contested with two semi-finals followed by a final. The semi-final winners were Teddy Billington and Marcus Hurley. In the final Burton Downing took the lead and led Hurley until the last few yards of the stretch when Hurley jumped past him and won the race by a length. Teddy Billington was third with Charles Schlee fourth.
