Biography

Originally playing for Tårnby CC, Margit Pörtner joined the successful Hvidovre CC in 1994. With that rink, she won five consecutive Danish titles (1994-1998). Under the lead of Helena Blach Lavrsen, the Danes also won the 1994 European title, and won four international medals in 1997 and 1998, including Denmark’s first ever medal at the Winter Olympics. Pörtner retired after the 1998 World Championships.
