Biography

Debbie Knox, a customer services representative from Dunfermline, Scotland, first appeared as a member of the British team when curling was a demonstration sport in Lillehammer. Knox was a member of the Scottish Championship winning team in 1992 and then returned, after the birth of twin daughters in 1996, to skip her own rink to a second championship in 1999. She competed in three world championship between 1992 and 1999 with a best finish of 4th but was originally selected for the 2002 Olympics only as the nominated alternate. She was switched to play third shortly before the tournament and the move was beneficial to the team as she recorded the second highest percentage of the gold medal winning team. After 2002 she did not play in another major event until the 2006 Winter Olympics where the British team finished outside the medals. Since 2006 she has worked as a development coach for Royal Caledonian Curling Club.
