Biography

Jorge Amaya was an Argentine equestrian who competed during the 1960s. Along with Carlos D’Elia, Carlos Damm, and Jorge Osacar, Amaya was part of the team that won silver at the jumping event at the 1963 Pan American Games in São Paulo. Five years later he competed in the individual event at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics but was disqualified in the first round of the competition. Amaya remained committed to the sport throughout his life with a long teaching career with the Argentine Equestrian Federation.
