Biography

King Alfonso XIII of Spain, who received the Olympic Diploma of Merit No. 11 in 1911, had his yacht “Giralda V” entered in the 7 metres competition at the 1920 sailing events in Antwerpen. The boat did not take part in any of the races, and the names of the supposed crew is unknown to us, so we do not know if the king was supposed to have competed himself.
