Biography

Lutz Gössing was an eventer who won the bronze medal with the West German team at the 1972 München Olympics. Individually he placed 13th, but four years earlier he did not finish the course in Mexico City. In 1964 and 1967 he was West German national champion. Gössing received the Silver Bay Leaf in 1972, the highest German sports award. Gössing was a farmer and horse breeder in Brockhagen in Westfalia. He later became president of a golf club in Ostenfelde.
