Biography

Jochen Mehrdorf was an eventer who placed fifth with the West German team at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics. Individually he finished 22nd and was the best placed West German rider. His horse Lapislazuli panicked on the flight back to Germany and had to be put down. In 1963, 1965 and 1973 Mehrdorf finished third at the West German championships. He was an internationally active veterinarian and a horse breeder in Wolfenbüttel.
