Biography

Bryce Beeston was a New Zealand cyclist who had a brief career in the late 1960s and early 1970s. In 1968 Beeston was called up to the Olympic team, competing in the road race at the Mexico City Games. He then spent some time in Europe, first riding in the 1969 edition of the Milk Race in England, finishing 49th overall. The following year he won a stage of the Tour of Ireland and finished fifth overall in the general classification. The 1970 British Commonwealth Games took place in Edinburgh, Scotland, with Beeston finishing fifth in the road race. He continued to be involved in the sport throughout his life, including working as an official to support the New Zealand cycling team at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
