Biography
Dick Cortright was a track rider who competed at the 1952, 1956, and 1960 Olympics. In 1959 Cortright won a gold medal at the Pan American Games in the team pursuit. Cortright also competed on the road, winning the 1950 Tour of Somerville and the 1954 US 50-mile road championship. Cortright later competed as a professional in six-day races from 1961-66. Upon retirement from cycling, he became a clerk with the US Postal Service, retiring in the early 1990s. In 1995 Cortright was inducted into the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame.
