Biography

Peter Franz was a German table tennis player who was eliminated early in the group stage and the first round respectively at the 1996 Atlanta and 2000 Sydney Olympics. With the German team he won bronze at the 1993 World Championships and silver at the 2000 Europeans. He won 119 international caps.

In total, Franz won five German national titles in the men’s doubles, with Torben Wosik in 1992, 1995, 2000-01, and with Jörg Roßkopf. In 1996-97 and 1999-2000 Franz also reached the men’s single finals but lost on each occasion. With TTC Zugbrücke Grenzau (1991), and TTC Liebherr Ochsenhausen (1997 and 2000), he won three German team championships.
