Biography

František Jursa was a Czechoslovak cyclist. Jursa competed at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics on both the road and the track. While he did not finish in the road races, Jursa finished in joint-fifth place with the Czechoslovak team in the 4,000 metres team pursuit. In Czechoslovakia Jursa was a multiple national champion, winning his first road title when he was 19. Jursa competed in the 1961 Peace Race where he finished in 37th place. After his cycling career Jursa became a coach in Brno.
