Born in France in 1946, Gerard Lettoli later represented San Marino in cycling races. In 1968 the micronation sent a delegation of just four athletes to the Mexico City Olympics, with Lettoli being one of two cyclists to compete for the country. He participated in the road race, finishing 60th, one place ahead of his compatriot Enzo Frisoni.
