Carl Lundquist participated successfully in competitions in both Denmark and Norway. At home, he placed fifth in the 1911 Swedish Championship in the 100 km time trial on the road, which was won by Erik Friborg, his clubmate from SK Iter. He competed in the road time trial round Lake Mälaren at the 1912 Olympic Games but had to abandon the race between Strängnäs and Eskilstuna, about one-third into the race. Lundquist was also secretary of SK Iter for several years. He died in a Stockholm hospital after a period of illness at age 24, less than four years after his Olympic appearance .
