Biography

Kevin Carton played hockey for Australia at both the 1956 and 1960 Olympic Games. Earning 26 caps, he was also a captain of Team Australia when they retained the Manning Memorial Cup in 1961 in a series against New Zealand. He played for the Australian team that finished second in the 1962 Ten-Nation International.

Carton graduated from Trinity College in 1951. He later entered the travel and tourism industry and in 1995 became chairman of the board of the Western Australian Tourism Commission. He was awarded the Australian Sports Medal in 1999, the Order of Australia Medal in 2000, and also received the Australian National Service Medal and Australian Centenary Award for services to tourism and hockey.
