Biography

Motiullah was a Pakistani field hockey player who won a silver medal at both at the 1956 Melbourne and the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, and in between he won gold at the 1960 Rome Games. In 1962 Motiullah also won the Asian Games title. On all four of those occasions named, Pakistan met India in the final of the respective tournament. In total, he won 68 international caps scoring 13 goals. The International Hockey Stadium in Bahawalpur (Motiullah Hockey Stadium) was named after him. His uncles Samiullah and Kalimullah also were Olympic field hockey medallists.
