Sheila Armstrong was from New Jersey and competed for Salle Santelli. She attended Cal Poly Ponoma. Armstrong placed second in foil at the 1975-76 US Championships. She competed at the 1975 Pan American Games, winning a bronze medal in team foil. In 1976 Armstrong was working as an executive secretary to support her training, but she later became an artist, opening Armstrong Studios.
