Biography

Polish-born sabre fencer Jacek Huchwajda finished fifth with the German team at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. He defected to Tauberbischofsheim in West Germany with his parents in 1984.

Domestically, Huchwajda won the individual sabre title in 1992 and 1995, having won the team title in 1986. He later started a coaching career after training at the Deutsche Sporthochschule in Köln. He worked with FC Tauberbischofsheim until 2006, before moving to the United States to also work as a fencing coach.
