Once World War II had ended, Anna Monlarini joined Pavia Gymnastics and made an immediate impression. In 1950 Monlarini was selected to represent Italy at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Basel where she won bronze in the team competition. During this time she made regular appearances for the national gymnastics team, earning herself a place at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, although she did not compete at the Games. In the late 1940s and early 1950s Monlarini had five victories at international competitions with the Italian team.
